Józef Kidon was born in 1890. Jozef Kidon began studying painting in Lviv in the studio of Stanislaw Batowski, and continued it in Amsterdam. In the 1920's, he made an artistic journey around Europe - he visited Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria. Before the outbreak of World War II, he lived in Katowice, where he portrayed the personalities of the Silesian elite and gained considerable recognition.
