Bärenfänger exhibited with the artists' group 'Das Junge Rheinland' and in 1925 he was honored with a solo exhibition by the Aachener Museums-Verein. His motifs included landscapes as well as still lifes and cityscapes. The artist's oeuvre shows characteristics of the Rhenish Expressionism, but was also influenced by the New Objectivity...
