Klaus Schwabe was a German sculptor who studied at the Technical School for Applied Arts in Leipzig and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden. He took over the sculpture class at the Dresden University from 1983 to 1993 and received the National Prize of the GDR in 1989. Schwabe participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions at home and abroad, including the Venice Biennale in 1984. He is known for his sculpture work in bronze casting, and his works can be found in the Kunsthalle of the Sparkasse Leipzig and in public space. One of his notable works is a fragment of the Budenny equestrian bronze, which has a total height of 34.5 cm with base and a beautifully shimmering patina.... Read full biography
