Laszczka won the first prize in the competition organized by the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts. In the years 1891–1996 he was on a scholarship in Paris, where he studied with A. Mercié, Al. Falguiere and J. Gérôme. After returning from Paris, he lived in Warsaw until 1899. Then he moved to Krakow, where he took the chair of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts, which he led until 1935. In the years from 1900 to 1910, he was an artistic patron of Józef Niedzwiecki's factory of tiles and pottery in Debniki. He was one of the founders of TAP "SZTUKA".
