After undergraduate studies in anthropology, she pursued sculpture at New York's Art Students League with Sidney Simon. She joined the Phoenix Gallery and was part of a cooperative of sculptors with studios. In the Spring of 2003, Raynolds was chosen to participate in Casper's "Where the Buffalo Roam." Her life-size fiberglass buffalo cow, containing a sculpted calf within, was auctioned to support the Nicolaysen Art Museum.
