An abstract painter, Louis Stone settled in Lambertville, New Jersey from 1935 and taught classes in non objective painting including at New Hope, Pennsylvania. He studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and at the Pennsylvania Academy with Daniel Garber. He was also a student at the Art Students League and in Munich with Hans Hofmann.
