He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais* from 1891, and at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. In 1891 he married Jeanne Dauchez, the sister of André Dauchez (1870–1948), and became infatuated with the scenery and peasant life of her native Brittany.
