After graduation he pursued additional study and then moved to New York City where he studied with Joseph Floch and was greatly influenced by Charles Sheeler and Lyonel Feininger. After graduation he pursued additional study and then moved to New York City where he studied with Joseph Floch and was greatly influenced by Charles Sheeler and Lyonel Feininger. Murray worked for Edith Halpert at the Downtown Gallery*, the Heisenberg Gallery, and the Forum Gallery, all in New York City. In 1958, he moved to Provincetown on a part-time basis, moving here full time in the early 1990’s.
