Nina Baroness Bistram was born in 1918 at Castle Krottuschen in Lithuania. As a result of the October Revolution, the family emigrated to Germany. Here Nina grew up in the family's manor in Liegau-Augustusbad. In 1953, the family moved to West Germany. In 1974 she began to paint images that were recently exhibited in Germany, Austria and France, in Paris at the "Maison de la Chasse et de la Nature". Since that time, she also worked as a designer for the house of Hermès. 1998 her autobiographical book "Palm House and Scherbelberg" was published. The painter is buried in Wachau bei Radeberg. 2011, an exhibition of paintings by Nina Bistrams was held in Klippenstein Castle in Radeberg.
