In 1841, Oswald Achenbach left the Academy and went on various study trips, including Bavaria, Tyrol and Italy. Back in Düsseldorf, he joined various painters' associations and exhibited regularly from 1850. He was already internationally known at this time. From 1852, he received international honors, among others in Amsterdam, Paris, St. Petersburg, Rotterdam and Mexico. In 1863, Aschenbach was appointed professor at the Düsseldorf Academy....
