Otto Herbert Hajek (1927-2005) was born in the Czech town Kaltenbach. From 1947 to1954 he studied sculpture at the academy in Stuttgart. He exhibited at the documenta II and III and headed the sculpture class at the art academy in Karlsruhe from 1980 to 1992. In the 1960s, Hajek developed his so-called ‘Farbwege’, works that expand into and involve the space.
