The influence of his time as a stained glass artist is evident in his paintings. Blomkamp’s interest lies in light, colour, and energy. Blomkamp was commissioned to create numerous stained glass works for public and corporate buildings, such as St Stithians College Chapel, State Theatre Pretoria, and Absa Bank. His works are also included in the collections of Investec, Telkom, and IBM, amongst others.
