He was the son of the painter Constant Permeke and Marie Delaere, who stayed as war refugees in Sidford, and grandson of the painter Henri Permeke. He was also the nephew of the art photographer Maurice Antony, who photographed the family of Constant Permeke (and the young Paul Permeke) several times during the interwar period. He...
