He chose his themes from fairy tales, leading the eyes of the viewers through mysterious mazes of geometrical color and light areas. His schooling began at the age of 13 at the Brahmacharya Ashram in Santiniketan under Rabindranath Tagore, later his schooling in art was taken up by Abanindranath Tagore and Gaganendranath Tagore in their Jorasanko house in Calcutta. Prosanto Roy was profoundly influenced by the splintered from and cubist treatment of pictorial space and light in the paintings of Gaganendranath.... Read full biography
