Born in Georgia, Ray Frost Fleming moved to Michigan as a young adult to obtain his Master’s of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art. While attending Cranbrook, Fleming met his life partner, Robert Kidd. Both men went on to become noted studio artists before opening their contemporary art gallery, called the “Robert Kidd Gallery”, which is one of the longest running galleries in Metro Detroit.
