He graduated form Harvard University in 1909 after studying under Joseph Lindon Smith and Denman Waldo Ross. Everett received additional studies under Hermann Dudley Murphy. Everett was born in New Jersey and attended the Drexel Institute of Technology, Philadelphia where he studied under Howard Pyle. He graduated form Harvard University in 1909 after studying under Joseph Lindon Smith and Denman Waldo Ross. Everett received additional studies under Hermann Dudley Murphy. In 1909 Everett helped to organize the architecture department at Pennsylvania State College and in the following year joined the faculty at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the architecture department.
