He earned a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Treaster became a faculty member at the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1966. His paintings are in over 200 private collections throughout the United States including the Ford Motor Company and the National Academy of Design. Prior to his death, Treaster resided in Lakewood, Ohio.
