She attended the Art Institute of Chicago (1921-1925) and Northwestern University (1926-1927), then served as art director for Revell and Company, Chicago (1927-1932). After studying under Hubert Ropp (1931-1932), she spent time abroad in Vienna (1932-1934) and worked in New York City as a freelance artist (1934-1940). She made Dallas, Texas her home thereafter.
