Rosemary Laughlin Bashor. Born Rosemary Chappee, Sand Creek District, Meade County, Kansas, in 1922, Rosemary Bashor later lived and taught school in Central Missouri and Southern Illinois. She joined the Bethany College art faculty in 1961, and taught as an Assistant Professor of Art for four years and returned in 1967 as the Chairperson of the Department. She joined the Bethany College art faculty in 1961, and taught as an Assistant Professor of Art for four years and returned in 1967 as the Chairperson of the Department. Many shows of Mrs. Bashor's work throughout this region were highly praised. In later years her "Contrary Creek Studio" in a gingerbread trimmed Victorian mansion on Lincoln Street drew friends and visitors alike to see her work. Rosemary taught at Bethany until 1969.
