The artist has acquired several key commissions, including those of various Nobel Laureates, of the St Lucian Prize winner Derek Walcott for the National Portrait Gallery in London and a study which also hangs in the National Portrait Gallery. Aside from painting, Wilson has been a visiting speaker at Harvard University and the University of Oxford and helped set up ‘New Art of the Irish,’ an open exhibition which showcases a new generation of Irish artists.
