Sebastian De Llanos Y Valdes was among the founders of the Academy of Fine Arts in the parish of San Luca in 1660, in which he took an active part and contributed generously to its economic... Sebastian De Llanos Y Valdes was born the son of Sebastián Ruiz and María de la Cruz, probably born around 1605. He was appointed mayor of the Guild of Painters of Seville in 1653. It is known that he received several apprentices in his workshop, among them in 1656 Juan Real, when he was nine years old. Sebastian De Llanos Y Valdes was among the founders of the Academy of Fine Arts in the parish of San Luca in 1660, in which he took an active part and contributed generously to its economic support. He was a consul at the Academy, together with Juan Valdés Leal. In 1664, he was president of the Academy, a position that lasted longer. He died on October 10, 1677.
