The then manager Hjalmar Olson was hesitant, the factory was not doing well and they could hardly hire more. "If you hire me, I'll make sure there are jobs at the factory," replied the confident Lindberg. Under Wilhelm Kåge's leadership, Stig Lindberg had to show his front feet and he stayed at Gustavsberg for many years.
