After spending his childhood in Belluno, where he attended the high school at the College of the Salesians, in 1943 he interrupted his classical studies to enroll in art school in Venice, which he completed two years later. In 1946, he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice to study at the Free School of Nude with Armando Pizzinato. In this time he met and became friends with Emilio Vedova. At the end of 1947, Parmeggiani traveled to Paris where he met the European avant-garde of the first half of the century. Between 1948 and 1949, he lived and worked between Feltre and Venice and, in May 1949, he held his first solo exhibition, which was at the Gallery Sandri. In 1950 staying... Read full biography
