During the German occupation, the house Maselli sees a lot of wanted militants and Jews fleeing the Nazis and Fascists. In 1945 she married the artist Toti Scialoja. In 1948, at age twenty-four, she exhibited for the first time at the Obelisk Gallery in Rome, presented in the catalog by the writer Corrado Alvaro.
