At Brussels Academy, his master was Paul Lauters (1806-1875), painter, watercolorist, drawing specialist and lithographer. In 1867, Uytterschaut painted his first watercolors and devoted most of his artistic career to this technique. In 1867, Uytterschaut painted his first watercolors and devoted most of his artistic career to this technique. He painted landscapes inspired by different regions of Belgium and marines representing scenes typical of the Belgian coast, also but more rarely, figure paintings. In 1878, he traveled to Holland, France and England and brought back many notes, sketches and drawings from those countries. He was acquainted with fellow aquarellists Cassiers, Staquet and Hagemans who, like him, painted views of the Ardennes region and the... Read full biography
