Vittorio Gussoni learned the basics of drawing from his father. Then he enrolled at the Brera Academy, where he studied under Cesare Tallone before World War II, and after with Ambrogio Alciati. In 1922 he exhibited for the first time at the Biennale di Brera, the success and appreciation were such as to merit the appointment as honorary member of the Academy. In 1922 he exhibited for the first time at the Biennale di Brera, the success and appreciation were such as to merit the appointment as honorary member of the Academy. In 1923 he represented the Permanente in Milan. His portraits earned an appreciation from clients and even criticism from abroad, especially in the US where he enjoyed an interesting market, with progressive developments after his death.
