Xanthos Hadjisoteriou was born in Famagusta in 1920 and died in Limassol in 2003. He studied commerce at the American University of Beirut and later painting and decoration in London: originally the Central School of Arts & Crafts and then to Bryan Show School of Art. His compositions gave particular emphasis to women of Cyprus, pointing to the mannerism of curvatures, creating works with a harmonious balance.
