Born in Hainan, China, in 1935, Yeo Hoe Koon relocated to Singapore during his childhood. He received his training at Singapore’s Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1957, as well as at the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1959 to 1961. He learned Chinese arts from Chen Wen Hsi which partly influenced and benefited Yeo Hoe Koon’s mastery of both Eastern and Western skills and philosophies observed in his works. He received his training at Singapore’s Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1957, as well as at the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1959 to 1961. He learned Chinese arts from Chen Wen Hsi which partly influenced and benefited Yeo Hoe Koon’s mastery of both Eastern and Western skills and philosophies observed in his works.
