Several family visits to the East Coast during his childhood exposed Mark to some of the finest art museums in the U.S. After high school Mark was apprenticed by the nationally renowned portrait painter, Glenn Bahm. Glenn taught Mark that one could make a career of painting only through a sound conventional training in art fundamentals and an in-depth study of the old masters.
