Hawthorne, once there however his involvement in the community grew. He played a major role in the organization of the Provincetown Art Association—he was a member of its first committee, which also included artists Edwin Dickinson, Gerrit Beneker and Oliver Chaffee, and was also a member of the Beachcombers....
