Caroline Durieux, of New Orleans, attended Sophia Newcomb College in her hometown. She went on to study at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and later worked with Diego Rivera in Mexico. During the 1930s and 1940s, Durieux became a well-known lithographer and social satirist in the tradition of George Grosz and Honore Daumier. During the 1930s and 1940s, Durieux became a well-known lithographer and social satirist in the tradition of George Grosz and Honore Daumier.
