A landscape painter, especially of moonlit, nocturnal scenes, Charles Tredupp Jr. was born in Berlin, Germany and spent most of his life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He arrived in the United States in February 1888 with his father Charles Frederick Tredupp Sr. and immediately settled in Milwaukee. Charles Jr. was naturalized on September 21, 1896. Tredupp. For years the father and son shared a studio in an octogonal house a 2443 North Gordon Place. The historic building, which dates from the early 1850s, was still serving in the late 1990s.
