Karl Caspar studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 1904 Caspar became a member of the Stuttgarter Künstlerbund (Stuttgart Artists' Association), and in 1906 he joined the Deutscher Künstlerbund (German Artists' Association).
