Serge Lemoyne (1941 - 1998). Serge Lemoyne was a painter, sculptor, print maker, performance artist and instigator of happenings*. He is considered to be one of the most avant-garde artists of Quebec in the last half of the 20th Century. He was born in Acton Vale, Québec, a town about 50 miles east of Montreal; and died in Saint-Hyacinthe, a town about 30 miles east of Montreal. He lived in the Montreal area all his life. (1).
