The painting depicts a sculpture from a series of Bamboo and Wood sculptures that the artist did in Japan in 1984.

The painting depicts rolling hills in shades of beautiful blues. Very much in the style of the Taos School and certainly influenced by Georgia O'Keefe. One of Gordon's paintings, entitled "Pink Roofs, Taxco, 1944" is in the Norton Simon Museum of Art in Pasadena, CA.

Hand painted block print on wallpaper segment painted by Walter Anderson, Very vivid colors and in good condition.

The painting was exhibited in the National Museum of American Art travelling exhibition entitled "Seeing Jazz" and this painting was paired with Miles Davis in the exhibit and in the catalogue.

This is a very rare watercolor by Walter Anderson that depicts a small barrier island with vesting pelicans and two sea turtles at the very bottom of the composition. The sea turtles may be nesting on this small island as well but that is hard to decipher.

Very rare large watercolor of a pelican rookery on one of the barrier islands off the Mississippi coast, probably Chandeleur Island.
