Excellent condition. Housed in an antique reproduction Hudson River style fluted cove frame measuring 5 1/2 inches wide.

Not the highest peak in Glacier National Park, at 9080 feet, Chief Mountain stands ahead of the other mountains on the eastern edge of the Rockies and looks out over the plains. It can be seen for over a hundred miles away. Lying half in Glacier, half in the Blackfeet Reservation.

Original frame with new overmat and inner gold fillet, as well as a new backer board and Museum Glass offering UV Protection and Non Glare coatings.

The painting depicts the Gallatin Valley and sunrise over the Bridger Range. The mountain on the far left is Sacagawea Peak, then Ross Peak with the sun rising above Ross Pass. Blackfeet Camp is below on the Gallatin River.

Craven produced this scene from inspiration driving the Spanish Creek U.S. Forest Service route, which is popularly known for its beauty and wildlife as it winds through Ted Turner’s famed Flying D Ranch. The Ranch produces Bison for his renowned Ted’s Montana Grill chain of restaurants.
