"Pachita" meaning "dear little one" is an intimate portrait of a woman from the American Southwest or Mexico, braiding her long hair.

Hills and Poplars features a classic scene from Sandzen's beloved Kansas terrain Acquired initially from the Sandzen museum in Lindsborg, Kansas, in 2006, with only one owner, the print is in excellent condition. The frame was handmade by the previous owner and inscribed as such on verso.

Hood served as a Major (and Paymaster) in the U.S. Army in the Civil War. He was also the Postmaster, a Marshall, and a Bookkeeper in Western Platte, Missouri. There he married Electra Helen Molin in 1844 who bore them eight children. Hood died in Denver. Included in catalogue raisonne.
