Andrew Lund's "Cabin Amongst the Eucalyptus Trees" is a masterful plein air painting capturing California's coastal charm. Lund's soft palette, textured brushwork, and balanced composition transports viewers to a serene SoCal era.

This painting was exhibited in the world renown Pittsburgh International (Carnegie Institute) show of 1928. The clothed woman in the foreground is quite likely the artist's wife, Emilie Empain. In a period frame.

The sitter, Marian Schuster, studied art in San Francisco under Salvador De Regil. In 1954, at age 19, she commissioned this portrait so that she could give it to her mother as a statement of her new found independence. The gesture and proclamation were not well received.

In a period Gold Leaf frame............ Jan Wysocki was born on February 7, 1873 in Myslowice in Upper Silesia. In 1893 he went to Munich, where he began painting studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and in 1896 went to Paris for an annual study at the Julien and Cilarossi Academy.

A lovely watercolor by William Lionel Wyllie (1851-1931) referred to as "Britain's premier marine artist of the later Victorian & early 20th century." Wyllie traveled to Norway in 1906 to research and paint for a book that he wrote and published in 1907, titled "Norway and its Fjords."
