In 1932, he took part in the Munich art exhibition and received the Dürer Prize from the city of Nuremberg in the same year. In 1933, thanks to a scholarship, he went on a study trip that took him to Florence and Rome. In 1932, he took part in the Munich art exhibition and received the Dürer Prize from the city of Nuremberg in the same year. In 1933, thanks to a scholarship, he went on a study trip that took him to Florence and Rome. After his Munich studio, and a large part of his oeuvre was destroyed in the war, Leidl went to Tutzing on Lake Starnberg in 1943. There, he created portraits of personalities such as Theodor Heuss, but above all landscapes, for which he traveled to Bavaria, northern Germany, Italy, Austria and South America.
