Dacosta exhibited his work in 1940 at Casa Repe - Chiado, which was considered the first national manifestation of Surrealism in Portugal. He participated in the SPN/SNI Exhibitions of Modern Art in the 1940s and won the Souza-Cardoso Prize in 1942. He participated in the SPN/SNI Exhibitions of Modern Art in the 1940s and won the Souza-Cardoso Prize in 1942.
