First of the three sons of Domenico Piatti (1848 - 1915), appreciated sculptor and marble worker for generations, and Maria Buzzi Donelli (1852 - 1940) at 12 years he entered the paternal workshop determined to follow in his footsteps and subsequently at the study of the Turin sculptor Leonardo Bistolfi.
