During the 1950s, many of his drawing appeared in political magazines in Cuba, making fun of Castro. However, this made Prohias many enemies due to his political views and making his life difficult. During the 1950s, many of his drawing appeared in political magazines in Cuba, making fun of Castro. However, this made Prohias many enemies due to his political views and making his life difficult. He began searching for magazines to show his work. Prohias sent in a short cartoon in 1961 to MAD Magazine. MAD ran the cartoon in the January, 1961 issue, and "Spy vs Spy" was created.
