After 1861, the studio Julius Huebner specialist history painting. A stay in Italy 1866/67 hardly influenced his work artistically. In his brief, rich in personal suffering life, Venus created a few oil paintings, of which "distributing Saint Elizabeth, alms" history painting in the Gemäldegalerie, Dresden can be considered his masterpiece.
