Instead, with his technical skill Jungstedt came to balance the traditional technique which he mastered to the fullest with a keen interest in the possibilities and challenges of modern outdoor painting.Jungstedt studied at the Academy of Fine Arts 1878-1883. With his skill he was considered one of the greatest promises in his year class and his talent took him to Paris he came to be a pupil of the successful portrait painter William-Adolphe Bouguereau. During his years outside Sweden, he also made his way to Holland, Switzerland and Italy.
