In 1872, he settled in Munich and established himself as a landscape painter. He primarily found his subjects on the North and Baltic Sea coast, as well as around Munich. From 1893 he exhibited regularly at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition and also joined the exhibitions in the Glass Palace in Munich, in 1900 and 1901.
