After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College, she set up her first studio in Fort Worth, and became one of the Fort Worth Circle artists, whose work between 1940 and 1960 was highly influential on the art community in the area. Active another 50 years beyond this time, Brants produced landscapes and floral still lives, genre scenes, mythological subjects and bucolic scenes.
