Elisabeth von Eicken (1862-1940) Elisabeth von Eicken studied in Berlin, Geneva and Paris. In France her painting was influenced by the Barbizon School and the Impressionist Alfred Sisley. At the end of the 19th century, she co-founded the artists' colony Ahrenshoop. In addition, she also worked in Berlin-Grunewald. From 1894 onwards, the landscape painter regularly showed her work at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition and was represented on every major exhibition of the time. In the U.S. she was awarded a gold medal. Elisabeth von Eicken created a wonderful oeuvre of evocative paintings and drawings, her finest works were created on the Baltic Sea.
