The artist worked in Epping Forest and the Lake District, later traveling frequently to Holland, France and Italy. Seabrooke served in the British Red Cross from 1914–18 and as an Official War Artist on the Italian Front. His first one-man exhibition was at the Carfax Gallery in 1912. In later years he... Landscape and still-life painter, Elliott Seabrooke was born on May 31, 1886 at Upton Park, Essex. Seabrooke studied at the Slade School from 1906–11 and was influenced by the work of Czanne. The artist worked in Epping Forest and the Lake District, later traveling frequently to Holland, France and Italy. Seabrooke served in the British Red Cross from 1914–18 and as an Official War Artist on the Italian Front. His first one-man exhibition was at the Carfax Gallery in 1912. In later years he adopted a pointilliste technique derived from Seurat. Seabrooke exhibited at the N.E.A.C. from 1909–20, and at the London Group from 1919 (member 1920, President 1943–8, Vice-President 1949–50). Elliott Seabrooke died in Nice on March 6, 1950.
