He continued his training in Madrid with Joaquín Sorolla and was later admitted to the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts. He travelled to Italy, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland on a scholarship from the Ministry to complete his training, and his painting evolved towards Nordic Impressionism. He continued his training in Madrid with Joaquín Sorolla and was later admitted to the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts. He travelled to Italy, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland on a scholarship from the Ministry to complete his training, and his painting evolved towards Nordic Impressionism. He was awarded an honourable mention at the National Exhibition in Madrid in 1912 and held his first solo exhibition in Madrid in 1915. Vera is currently represented in the Museo de Santa Cruz in Toledo and in numerous private collections both in Spain and abroad
