He returned to Spain and participated in various exhibitions and made illustrations for publications. During the war, he devoted himself to socialist propaganda and participated in the International Exhibition of Paris in 1937. After the exile, he returned to the artistic scene with exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art and at the Galeries Layetanas.
